Fully cooked eggs are an excellent source of protein and amino acids. Cook them plain (no butter, oil or salt) and avoid raw eggs, which can carry Salmonella and contain an enzyme that interferes with vitamin absorption.

If you do share it

Serve boiled or plain-scrambled, no seasoning. Keep it occasional — one egg is a lot of food for a small dog.
